Senior officials of LGD visits South Africa and Malawi

The Activating Village Courts Project has undertaken a study tour in South Africa and Malawi where seven government officials from the Local Government Division (LGD) attended during the period from 01 November to 15 November. The objective of the study tour was to learn the best practice of primary justice system in Malawi and strategy of comprehensive rural development programme in South Africa. The mission was led by Mr. Prasanta Bhusan Barua, Joint Secretary (Development) of LGD.

The Ministry of Rural Development from both the countries organised meetings and field visits for the delegates during their visit. The delegates shared their experience and have very good lessons learnt on the issue of rural justice system and development.
