A day-long media workshop on "Digital Bangladesh" for local journalists was held in Rajshahi on Sunday, 30 May aimed at making the understanding on issues of Digital Bangladesh clear. Rajshahi City Mayor Mr. AHM Khairuzzaman Liton was present at the inaugural session of the workshop, jointly organised by the Access to Information (A2I) Program and Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB). Additional Deputy Commissioner Subol Bosh Moni was also present at the programme as special guest with DG of PIB Mr. Dulal Chandra Biswas in the chair. Md. Rakibul Hasan from Access to Information (A2I) Programme gave a key note presentation on digital Bangladesh covering its background, ICT policy, key features, and present status with some examples of success stories. A total of 50 journalists from different districts of Rajshahi division took part in the workshop which was very interactive. They expressed their interest in writing stories on telecentre, district web portals and upazila health complex cell phones.
